Accessibility is considered part of the quality of the Vornant website rather than an optional addition.
We aim to design and maintain the website so that people can understand its content, navigate its structure and use its interactive features through a range of devices, browsers and assistive technologies.
Where a barrier is identified, we will consider what reasonable changes can be made to remove or reduce that barrier.

Accessibility standard
Vornant uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as the target standard for this website.
WCAG is an internationally recognised set of recommendations for making web content more accessible. Its principles broadly require web content to be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.
This is a development target, not a claim that the entire website has already been independently audited or formally certified as conforming.

How we support accessibility
As the website is developed and maintained, Vornant aims to apply practices including:
Semantic structure
Use meaningful HTML elements, heading levels, landmarks and labels so that page structure can be understood by browsers and assistive technologies.
Keyboard access
Interactive controls should be reachable and usable without requiring a mouse or touch input.
Visible focus
Keyboard focus should remain visible so users can understand which link or control is currently active.
Colour and contrast
Text, controls and meaningful visual elements should use sufficient contrast and should not rely on colour alone to communicate important information.
Responsive layouts
Content should remain usable across different screen sizes and when users enlarge or zoom the page.
Clear language
Content should use straightforward structure and wording wherever technical or legal precision does not require additional complexity.

Current accessibility status
The Vornant website is currently being developed and has not yet undergone a complete formal accessibility audit against WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
Accessibility requirements are being considered during development, and the site will be reviewed more thoroughly before its public launch and as material changes are introduced.
No claim of complete WCAG 2.2 AA conformance is currently being made.

Known limitations
As the website is still being developed, specific accessibility limitations may be identified through testing and feedback.
Where a material issue is confirmed and cannot immediately be resolved, this statement can be updated to describe:
- The affected content or functionality
- The nature of the accessibility barrier
- Any available alternative method of access
- The intended remediation where appropriate
We would rather identify a limitation clearly than make a broader accessibility claim that has not been demonstrated.

Reporting an accessibility problem
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on the Vornant website, please tell us.
It is helpful if you can include the page or feature involved, what you were trying to do and, where relevant, the browser, device or assistive technology being used.
We will review reported issues and consider what reasonable action can be taken to resolve the problem or provide an alternative.

Alternative formats and reasonable adjustments
If information or a Vornant service is not reasonably accessible to you in its existing form, contact us to discuss what alternative format or reasonable adjustment may help.
The appropriate solution will depend on the information, service and circumstances involved.

Testing and review
Accessibility cannot be established from visual design alone. Vornant intends to review the completed website using a combination of automated and manual checks.
This may include checking:
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Focus order and focus visibility
- Heading and landmark structure
- Accessible names and control labels
- Colour contrast
- Zoom and responsive reflow
- Alternative text for meaningful images
- Form behaviour and error handling
- Screen-reader compatibility where appropriate
- Behaviour with browser or operating-system accessibility preferences
Additional testing may be undertaken when significant new functionality is introduced.

Changes to this statement
This statement may be updated as the website develops, following accessibility testing, when known issues change or when the standards and guidance used by Vornant are revised.
